Parents

Parents are vital to the learning process and we welcome your involvement. True Light Shines Academy initiated the following policies to support the family unit.

• Family time is valuable, therefore assignments that are typically considered homework will be embedded in the school day. School hours are extended to accommodate the reinforcement and application of newly learned skills.
• Family Projects: These provide an opportunity for families to work together on an engaging learning task.
• Family Field Trips: Annual family field trips provide the opportunity for families to learn and experience new places together. Past family field trips include the Creation Museum, Washington, D.C., Gettysburg & Philadelphia, and Jamestown & Yorktown.
• School Uniforms: Research indicates that academics are enhanced when school uniforms are adopted. True Light Shines Academy has enacted a policy for uniforms that is affordable and offers several options.
