Grades 1 - 5

True Light Shines Academy uses North Carolina's Standard Course of Study as a minimum guide to ensure grade level benchmarks are met in the areas of language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. Lessons in all subjects are built around central Biblical themes. Class sizes are small so instruction can by tailored to students' individual needs. Teachers are experienced educators who use a combination of teaching strategies, techniques, and resources to ensure success for all students. Experiential learning is the preferred method (hands-on activities, inquiry, real-world examples). Worship and service are incorporated into the curriculum.

Core Subjects: Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Grammar), Mathematics, Social Studies (American history taught at all grade levels, in addition to the grade-level social studies focus), Science, Bible, Technology, & Physical Education

Enrichment Subjects: Art, Music, Spanish

Nationally-Normed Standardized Testing Grades 3-5

Daily Openings: Praise, worship, announcements

Fridays: Worship and Service are emphasized
